Day of Mourning

Annual Day of Mourning Ceremony and Leaders' Walk - Tuesday, April 28, 2015

The Day of Mourning is Canada's national day to remember workers injured of killed on the job.

April 28th is a day to pause, reflect, gather our resolve and to re-dedicate ourselves to improving health and safety in the workplace.

WAPSO invites membership to join the Executive Board in attending the following:

City of Winnipeg Day of Mourning Ceremony - City Hall Courtyard, 510 Main Street 9:00am - 9:30am

This ceremony pays tribute to civic workers who have died of work-related causes and who have been injured in the workplace. President Weremy will speak in honour of our fallen or injured members at the ceremony.

Safe Workers of Tomorrow Leader's Walk - Union Centre, 275 Broadway 11:45am - 12:45pm

The annual Leaders' Walk is march that brings together young Manitobans, labour leaders and activists, and other community leaders to honour the Day of Mourning. The WAPSO Executive Board will join the walk and welcomes WAPSO members to join them.

The walk starts at the Union Centre, 275 Broadway, and travels west toward the Manitoba Legislative Building, 450 Broadway.
