WAPSO and CUPE Local 500 speak at EPC & City Council

Updated on Tuesday, March 22, 2016

WAPSO-IFPTE Local 162 President Michael Robinson in solidarity with CUPE Local 500 President Gord Delbridge spoke on the City's proposed 2016 Operating Budget at the City's Executive Policy Committee meeting on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 and at City Council on Tuesday, March 22, 2016.

"The City's workforce simply cannot continue to absorb these levels of cutbacks, while still maintaining service levels to the public," CUPE Local 500 President Gord Delbridge stated.

"With the proposed increase in vacancy management this year, and the combined 32% increase over the last two years, the impact on our members is significant. Leaving a void this large in the municipal workforce seriously reduces our ability to respond to the needs of Winnipeggers," explained WAPSO-IFPTE Local 162 President Michael Robinson.
