Budget Update: WAPSO speaks at Executive Policy Committee

Thursday, December 12, 2013

WAPSO-IFPTE Local 162 President Andrew Weremy and 1st Vice-President Alex Regiec appeared at the City's Executive Policy Committee today and spoke in opposition of the proposed furloughs and staffing cuts contained in the 2014 operating budget.

"We stand in solidarity with our members and all civic employees who serve the citizens of Winnipeg," said WAPSO-IFPTE Local 162 President Andrew Weremy. "Winnipeggers expect a budget that properly funds the delivery of public services and programs that they rely on, and not one that impacts those services through staffing reductions."

WAPSO will be in attendance for the budget vote at City Council on December 17, 2013.
